Hi and welcome back to Graduate+ the blog!

Every week I provide you with a timetable packed full of free events for you to attend in your spare time here in Birmingham, the purpose being to help you de-stress and reset!

As exams and assessments come to an end I have provided you with a variety of musical performances, summer events as well as small academic sessions available to you to try as summer commences.

Summertime tipping tales

Grab a beer and listen to smokin' short stories and poems at the Gunmakers Arms. Popular local writers will delight you with compelling stories in this buzzy real ale paradise.

Tuesday talks

These weekly, 30-minute tours and talks – devised to appeal to novice and more knowledgeable visitors alike – introduce you to individual works, aspects and themes from our collections, and displays and exhibitions.

Walk and draw

Take a 30-minute walk across campus and make speedy sketches along the way of its landscape, buildings and people

Free improvised comedy show

This show takes a very intimate look at the lives of our performers, then ruthlessly explores the comic premises from within those stories in a typically high-paced Fat Penguin style. The show is 100% improvised.

NYO inspire orchestra

NYO Inspire Orchestra is 75 teenage musicians who represent every region in the UK and share NYO’s bold mission to inspire young people everywhere through music. Following a week of rehearsals at the University of Wolverhampton they will embark on a four-day tour of West Midlands

Sutton Coldfield community games

This year’s free weekend of sporting fun will take place on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July at Wyndley Leisure Centre. The formula established over the last six Sutton Games will remain, so expect enormous amounts of fun with over 70 different sports and activities to try, live music and dance acts, and children’s entertainment.
