In today's blog, Business Management student Aysha Bateman speaks about Graduate+ Week.

How do you learn about employment opportunities, volunteering, academic and professional development?

Graduate+ week, that’s how!

This year’s virtual Graduate+ week starts in 7 days, from Monday 8th March and ends on Friday 12th March.

I thought this would be a great time to tell you a little bit about what’s on offer. The week kicks off with an “Eco eats: Budget-friendly food” session where you can learn about cheap plant-based recipes and meals that are quick and easy to make. Tuesday brings an opportunity to hear about “Presenting research” and all the skills needed to speak data.

On Wednesday afternoon you can delve into the world of “Defeating procrastination” and find out how you can increase your productivity. Previous attendees highly recommend this habit-changing workshop. On Thursday you can “Get ahead of the game: applying for graduate jobs” to help answer any queries you have about employment beyond graduation. The week ends with a “Boost your employability through volunteering and mentoring session” a unique opportunity to mgain first hand insight into your chosen industry.

And by the end of the week you could be a step closer to completing your Bronze Graduate+ Award!

That’s right all of these activities count as evidence towards your Bronze Award.

Graduate+ Week was designed to make sure we students get clued up on a variety of extra-curricular skills that your course may not specifically teach you.

So make sure you take advantage of these internal and external speakers and their mountains of knowledge. So, go ahead and start booking your places now!

And remember it’s not just a bunch of random activities it’s your award, your skills, your future.
