Our first ever virtual Celebration Week has got off to a grand start, kicking off with Motivational Monday!
Throughout the week we are inviting you to join in the fun online – bringing you inspirational guest speakers, competitions and interactive content. It’s our way of saying WELL DONE and THANK YOU for all your hard work, dedication and participation over the last several months.
Our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn pages are going to look a little more animated than usual over the next few days and the best thing about this is you can enjoy it all from the comfort of your own home. So grab your beverage of choice (we’ll take a few rounds of tea and coffee please!), head to your preferred social channel, hit the follow button and let’s go!
In case you missed it, here’s a run-down of all the action that took place during Day 1…
Setting the tone for the day, we shared this powerful video by entertainment legend, Will Smith, who says that:
“99% of people are not willing to do what it takes to make their dreams come true.”
Watch the full clip and be sure to feel inspired. Are YOU ready to take action and discipline towards your dreams?
We were later joined by keynote speaker and actor Dave Keeling, who breaks down the meaning of the word motivation and shares this hack with his own unique, humorous twist – a must-watch even if we do say so ourselves!
We saw a selection of motivational stories from our very own #IAMBCU starlets, Isabel Radice and Laura Fogarty.
Then came the announcement of our first competition of the week…we’re asking you to reflect on the changes and challenges we’ve all faced as a result of the global pandemic, and tell us 3 things you’ve learnt about yourself during COVID-19. If you’d like to share your thoughts, send us an email to graduate+@bcu.ac.uk or comment on the posts online by 23:59pm on Friday 19th June, and you will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £50 Amazon Voucher.
Take me to competiton details!
Finally, we wrapped up the day with a clip from our good friend Andy Woodall - career coach, speaker and entrepreneur, where he shares some of his top tips for maintaining motivation through goal setting. Watch it here now.
We hope you loved the motivational feel of today?! Tomorrow is all about YOUR FUTURE, which is something that can feel pretty scary for most of us at a time like this (sending extra positive vibes to those of you entering a new chapter – we know it’s hard, but you’ve got this!)
You can expect insightful interviews, useful tips and more! Plus, don’t forget to check back on the blog tomorrow evening for a re-cap of day 2.
