Each Faculty has a dedicated Careers+ team available to support your students and to work with you to develop and deliver careers, placements and employability related activities. The team work with each Faculty to identify and prioritise courses and students who will gain most benefit from targeted support. Get in touch with your dedicated team here.

Jobs, Opportunities and Events

All students and recent graduates can access our secure jobs and opportunities platform from the Careers+ website home page. BCU staff can also view these opportunities by registering for an account. If you would like an account please email using your BCU email address.

Supporting and Transforming the Curriculum Agenda

The team can support academic colleagues to review and develop course employability content and outcomes. Support can include:

  • Developing and using employability audit tools
  • Contributing to the planning and delivery of Faculty Employability Weeks and Events
  • Attending meetings relevant to employability e.g. Student Advisory Board, Student Engagement and Learning and Teaching committees, Programme Directors meetings etc.
  • Attending and contributing to Faculty Professional Development Days
  • Sharing employer contacts and industry knowledge

Careers sessions embedded within courses and modules

The team work with academic colleagues to embed and integrate career sessions into courses and modules so all students benefit. Sessions are designed to increase students’ employability and adapted and focussed towards the needs, interests and year of study.

Employer and Industry Connections and Vacancy Management

Working with a range of employers the Graduate Talent Team can:

  • Provide employer contacts to contribute to courses
  • Manage vacancies on behalf of employers and shortlist suitable students and graduates

The team can assist staff in understanding and identifying strategies to improve future graduate outcomes.
